After waiting so long for our first win, Tommy and I followed it up with another win at our next competition. For the first time we tried doing two Novice classes at one competition. We scored 68% in both classes and was placed 2nd in N24 and we won N28. We have a short break before our next My Quest outing on the 10th.
After not totally being able to fit everything in life, I managed to get a free weekend and put in two entries, in Novice and Elementary, to Dressage Anywhere. I will have to wait until the end of the month to see where we end up, but I feel we have put in two strong midfield scores - 68% in the Novice and 64% in the Elementary.
It has to be said that we have not been hitting our 65% target in the Elementary classes and we are not far off trying it for a year. There has been lots to work on and I hope we will soon be getting out PSG Challenge 65% scores soon.
Tommy managed to get his first ever dressage wins at the weekend. We won both the Prelim and Novice classes giving us a few more My Quest points. Still out side of the the top 20 needed for qualification but improved our position.
We started taking our Dressage training seriously in August 2015 and it has taken many shows of being placed 2nd and 3rd before we got that first win. Feels good to get the first win out of the way!
The company I work for moved offices in March, so the first quater of the year was kind of lost in this. I kept up with the lessons but competitions took a sideline. But we are back on it now. I have decided to do the BD My Quest series as well as continuing with my PSG Challenge.
We went to Aldham Mill on the 23rd April for our first try and did a Prelim and Novice test. Tommy was on good form and we got our first Quest Points. This puts us 44th in the Prelim League and 35th in the Novice League.
To qualify for the regional finals we have to be top 20 so we will be back to Aldham Mill at the weekend hoping for a few more points. We have to do five qualifiers minimum to be in with a chance of a good placing and to get to the regional finals in September.
